Annie Haslam at ‘Frock & Roll’

Dear Friends

I am so excited to have been invited by Pamela Ptak, a gifted Couture Dress Designer, to collaborate with her on a gown for a most unusual fashion show called ‘Frock & Roll’ to be held at The Baum School of Art in Allentown, PA, February 9th – March 2nd 2012.

Pamela came to see one of our Fall Renaissance shows and after hearing our song called ‘The Mystic and The Muse’felt inspired to create a gown. When she called me about this, it was the perfect opportunity to discuss the possibility of printing a painting (in this case ‘The Muse’) onto fabric and taking it that one step further.

Since I started painting I have visualised ‘wearing’ my art while singing, now this has become a reality thanks to Pamela and artist/dress designer Ileanna Olympia who so graciously shared her expertise for printing original art onto silk. They have made my dream come true. My painting ‘The Muse’ is now expressed in silk, and with the magical expert hands of Pamela has become a masterpiece.

Annie Haslam Serenades in Rio (1998)

Hope you are all having some great family and fun time, if not, then you are having some well deserved quiet time.

For a couple of years I have wanted to find a way to transfer my old hi-8 films on to DVD. Well I went out and bought myself a piece of software for Xmas that allows me to transfer them, these are from my various trips and escapades over the years.. I am thrilled I can do that, I’m addicted to it!

Lots to share so keep tuned in… (particularly when you see me in a SAMBA competition!!!!) But first!

In 1998 I went to Brazil with my solo band, Rave Tesar, Joe Goldberger, David Biglin and Denny Bridges our trusted sound engineer. The shows went fantastically well, the fans were super friendly and avid fans of Renaissance (we have still never been there (YET) as a band… I have some footage to edit of these guys, we had FUN FUN FUN! I stayed on for a vacation to spend time with my friends Carlos and Luiz. While in Rio my favourite place to eat is at a very popular restaurant ‘FAZENDOLA’ in Leblon (Rio) the owner and friend Mary Lou very kindly threw a party for me.

It felt so good to relax and have fun and a few glasses of wine…I do have footage of me dancing during the evening, but not sure if I will share that LOL’s. I wasn’t expecting to ‘sing’ so luckily I wasn’t legless hahahahaha. The Brazilian band had learned our song ‘Let it Grow’ ahead of time. This song was a huge hit in Brazil in the 70’s, but that was still not enough for us to be able to tour.

I do hope you enjoy my rather relaxed and giggly interpretation of ‘Let it Grow’

Annie Haslam’s Holiday Show at Sellersville – December 18, 2011

Dear Friends,

It will be my favorite time of the year soon and where better to start it off than my annual ‘Holiday’ show at the Sellersville Theatre, Sellersville, PA.

Please come along… we always have fun and lots of magical, festive music!

With me will be my dear friends: Rave Tesar, Dave Keyes, Jason Hart and Frank Pagano and Denny Bridges on sound…

Practice your ‘singing’!

Hope to see you there.

Love and Peace,
Annie

Note from Annie in Japan – June 18 2011

I am in Nagoya, Japan and being treated so well. Jet lag is heavy duty, I will be rid of it by the time I leave here.

Went to the Tokugawa Museum yesterday overlooking a lake filled with the biggest KOI fish I have ever seen. They were bright yellow, white, orange and some that looked like they had graffiti on them, but Kink assured me that was not the case…

Air conditioning limited due to the low power and power plant situation. The hotel rooms are OK but the airports were a little sticky. This is the rainy season here right now, but due to climate changes the weather is not behaving normally as is evident the world over.

This really is a fascinating country and I encourage a visit here if you are able.

I am looking forward to the show tomorrow.

REALMS of GLORY: Annie’s new CD for the Holidays! with Rave Tesar

A compilation of favourites from ‘It Snows in Heaven Too’ and ‘Snowball.’

Due to a very busy year spent touring with Renaissance, we were unable to restock the Christmas CD, ‘It Snows in Heaven Too.’

We also have had many requests for the limited edition ‘SNOWBALL’ CD, so we decided to release this compilation of some of our favourites from these two CD’s.

The disc has been signed by Rave Tesar and myself with new cover art from ‘yours truly’!

This CD will also be sold at our holiday shows at The Sellersville Theater, Sellersville, PA, on the 18th and 19th of December 2010.

To purchase the CD, please go to the online store section of my site or directly to the ordering page.

Love, Peace, and Harmony,

♥ Annie

The New Renaissance CD

November 30th

Michael and I are now in the throes of writing songs for the remainder of our new CD. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology it is possible to do the basic groundwork by computers. This never ceases to amaze me. It makes me think back to when we recorded our early albums at De Lane Lea studios in Wembley, UK. The mixing console was huge and the reverb/echo units for the voices etc, where in a separate smaller room. AND everything was recorded on to TAPE … It took longer then to produce a final album, but that was fine by me as we had so much fun and met some great musicians while at the studio. Such wonderful memories! We plan to record the new CD in the US in February/March 2011. As we move along I will keep you updated with the bits and bobs of what is going on.

Peace and Love Annie

Snowball Giclee Print

Annie Haslam ‘In the Spirit of the Holidays’ concerts

November 11th

I am happy to report that this year we will be performing two ‘Holiday’ shows at The Sellersville Theatre, Sellersville PA on December 18th & 19th 2010.

Friends joining me will be:

Rave Tesar • Keyboards
David J. Keyes • Bass Guitar and Vocals
Jason Hart • Keyboards and Vocals
Frank Pagano • Drums, Percussion and Vocals
Denny Bridges • Sound Engineer

We always enjoy seeing so many of you at this special time of year, like seeing old friends. Please come with ‘tuned’ up voices to join us in some favourite Holiday Classics. Personally I feel so at home at the Sellersville Theatre, able to relax, be myself, and laugh with reckless abandon when needed… Truly a Blessing! Our dear friend Jann Klose will be opening the show and joining us for a song or two. Jann opened up for Renaissance on our 2009 Anniversary tour (east coast US) and is a great singer/songwriter. For my Art loving friends I will also be taking some of my original paintings to the show.

For ticket information please go to the Sellersville Theatre website. We all hope to see you there, where we will raise the roof with song and laughter!

Love and Peace, Annie
